Albuquerque, New Mexico

Property type: Private Residence

Investigation Date: 02-07-2009

Property Description and History:

This property is a one bedroom apartment. The home owner and his fiance collect old wind-up clocks from various parts of the country. They own a total of 7 wind up clocks. 6 in the living/dining room, and one in the bedroom. They have three cats as well.  Also, they have an ozone machine that is ran constantly to cleanse the air.

Claims of Activity:

The home owner claims that they have seen figures in the glass of their clocks and that one of the clocks would stop on occasion (Not needing winding at the time) and the door would open up on itself. They claim to see a blur of a person out in the corner of thier eyes every so often. It doesn’t matter what time of day. It appears to happen randomly.
They feel presences in the apartment when each of them are home alone. They are having a hard time sleeping and resorted to sleeping with the living room lights on. They feel that these presences center around the clocks.

They have a wine cooler with touch-sensitive controls which can control whether the reading is in C, or F; temperature up and down; as well as turn on/off the light. The lowest temperature that can set is 50 degrees F (Which is where they keep it at). This setting has recently started to change on its own and the new temperature it sets itself to is 54 degrees F. one such experience was described as follows: “When I got up to leave for work, I noticed it was set to 54, so I set it back down to 50. I walked over to the DVD rack to pick out a movie. My Fiance was close to me and turned around towards the wine cooler. We both hear a “Beep”. (It beeps at us when we touch a control.) After I heard the beep, I checked the set temperature and it was set back to 54 degrees!!”. The homeowners were really scared and wanted us to get to their place ASAP.

Investigation Findings:

While having some personal experiences, we were unable to capture any scientific evidence supporting the claims.  We did suggest, based on the information provided by the manufacturer, that the home owners operate the ozone machine at the settings provided in the instruction manual.  We have concluded that the claims are inconclusive at this time and needs further investigation.
