Private Residence
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Property type: Private Residence
Investigation Date: 02-06-2009
Property Description and History:
This property was a one story, single family home that was constructed in the 1950’s. It had four bedrooms and enclosed front and back patios. The topographic surroundings include foothills and water ways. Building surroundings include subdivision homes and a school directly across the road. A couple, two children, and family pets including one cat and one dog occupied the home. Two family members have passed away in the home in the past.
Claims of Activity:
The mother and her two sons moved into the home three years ago and has always experienced unexplained activity that began occurring on a daily basis. Her main concerns are for her children who have witnessed an old man with long white hair standing at the foot of their bed. The children also hear heavy breathing in their room and feel as if someone is sitting on the bed. The two children are so frightened at night that they choose to sleep with a flashlight. The home owners have experienced shadow figures that walk from the den to the back patio which was explained as twice the size of a normal house cat. They have also experienced heavy breathing, a child voice yelling, “MOMMY” and once she actually saw an apparition of a boy while crying out. One of the owners explained hearing, what was described as an evil laugh, twice in the bathroom. Other claims included items being moved around or misplaced; the animals starring at the ceiling and dogs growling in the children’s bedroom with nothing there; strange smells such as cinnamon and burning plastic; occasionally will hear shuffling sounds in the attic; banging and other weird noises in the home. Also, there are claims of objects moving across the rooms and doors being opened and closed. They all felt ill in the back room of the house and claim to have seen an apparition of an old man with white long hair.
The Investigation:
After driving throughout the night from Phoenix, AZ, we arrived on location in Albuquerque, NM at 11 p.m. Our investigation team consisted of four senior investigators due to the priority of the case. We conducted a walk through with the homeowners as they described the areas of activity. We then set up our equipment, conducted baseline temperature and EMF readings and began audio sessions. Throughout the investigation, we attempted to debunk some of the claims. After several audio sessions and a large amount of data collected, we packed up our equipment and said our goodbyes to the home owners.
Investigation Findings:
After reviewing all of the data collected, we did not find anything out of the ordinary. There are many possibilities, but not enough certainties to determine reasonable explanations for the claims. We were unable to debunk all of the claims, which results in our conclusion that the claim is inconclusive at this point and requires further investigation.
